D-mannose Surprising Benefits

Updated: May 7, 2024

In our home, D-mannose is the go-to solution for managing urinary tract issues. It has also proven to be helpful for our cats, who, as any cat owner understands, can suffer greatly from UTIs, and for our dogs as well.

This supplement comes highly recommended by Dr. Berg as an effective option. It is a type

of sugar that doesn't affect your blood sugar. Beside being used for the urinary tract it also has benefits namely for an inherited disorder called carbohydrate-deficient glycoprotein syndrome type 1b.

I’ve personally incurred substantial expenses on doctor’s appointments due to recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs). This is a pressing concern in medical care, as there’s an increasing trend of antibiotic resistance among patients.

This widespread issue leads to approximately 8 million medical office visits and 1.5 million emergency room admissions annually, costing over $3.5 billion in the United States alone. Moreover, there’s an escalating number of cases showing microbes’ resistance to conventional antibiotics, which amplifies both the expense and severity of this problem. A particular study "involving nearly 200 female college students with UTI symptoms revealed that over 40% of the infections were resistant to the primary and secondary antibiotics typically prescribed."

Research indicates that D-mannose can be as beneficial as antibiotics. It’s a time-saver and can also be kinder to your health and wallet! Check out this study--> National Library of Medicine.

Where is D-mannose found naturally?

Several foods contain D-mannose including black currants, red currants, gooseberries, cranberries, tomatoes, apples, peaches, oranges, blueberries, and certain vegetables, may also help with symptoms but will likely not contain a sufficient amount of d-mannose to treat

Keeping D-mannose in your cabinet is a great idea! Our health affects loved ones too!

Why D-mannose instead of antibiotics?

Antibiotics, can possibly lead to lasting harm, which is sometimes why people look to natural supplements.

The only potential issues noted with D-mannose are the possibility of diarrhea and advisories against its use during pregnancy or for individuals with diabetes.

It is stated (Medical News Today) here (that the diarrhea is not bad enough to stop the supplement.

This is the brand our household uses for UTI's. It currently has a 5 star rating! <3
